Arthur Doten Obituary
Arthur "Art", a self-employed landscaper for over 45 years in Watsonville and surrounding area, was also a softball coach for over 30 years with PV Girls Softball League and several of the local high schools, earning coach of the year award in 2018.
Art leaves behind his life partner of 33 years, Gina Ruiz; and her two children, Sean and Bryanna Villareal; grandchildren, Benjamin Villareal and Theo Rodriguez; his sisters Janet Doten, Linda Andrada, and Nancy Trevino; his five nieces and their children; his "softball daughter," Monique Martinez; along with extended family and close friends. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Martha Doten.
A viewing will be held at Mehl's Colonial Chapel on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 5:00pm – 6:00pm, with a remembrance of Art's life starting at 6:30. Burial service will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 11:00am at Valley Public Cemetery. More information can be found at: www.mehlschapel.com.

I thank God for the years art was part of our gym life and all he did for us, forever he will be remember. We have special memories in our hearts always pushing us to our max capacity. He´s leaving a gym legacy in our lives and generations to come. One more rep he will said.

Art will always hold a special place in our hearts, he was a our gym trainer for many years became a close friend showed us discipline, consistency, hard work and that we were capable of so much more. To always believe in ourselves. We shared a lot great laughs throughout our workouts but overall great memories. Forever in our hearts.

Art was part of a Power Unlimiteds lifting team and had the privilege to train and compete alongside him. He was always ready to help and coach us all. I´m am lucky to called him my friend. You´re gonna be missed buddy. Until we meet again keep an eye on us. See you on the other side.

Gina and family, we are so sorry! Oh the fun memories we have of Art, they will live on in our memory forever! His presence and laughter will be missed greatly!
