Deborah Doten Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Southeast Funeral and Cremation Services - Easton on Jan. 10, 2026.
Deborah Elizabeth Doten (Schaaf) of Taunton Massachusetts passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 22nd, 2025, After fighting a courageous 8-month medical battle. She was 61 years old. Debbie was a graduate of Oliver Ames High School in North Easton, Massachusetts. She then became the general manager at the South Easton D'Angelo, where she worked for an impressive 38 years. Debbie is known by many in the community. Her bright and warm smile, along with her powerful and infectious laugh, drew many people in. These qualities are just a few reasons she was loved by so many. From her peers to the young high school students she mentored at work. They all would say the same thing: Debbie was one of the kindest and most selfless people they had the pleasure of knowing.

Debbie was married to Kenneth D. Doten for 36 years. They met as teenagers and spent many wonderful years together. As they grew, they started a family and moved to Taunton MA. Debbie was a very dedicated and devoted mother. She is survived by her daughter, Nicole A. Doten. Nicole's partner, Jeffrey Kelley, and their three children, Cienna, Penelope, and Maevlyn Doten. Debbie enjoyed nothing more than spending all of her free time with her granddaughters. Whether they were swimming in the pool or having a long beach day together. Cuddling up reading books, playing school or working on arts and crafts. The girls knew their Nunna would always make for a fun day.

Debbie loved getting out and enjoying life. She enjoyed driving to the beach during storms to watch the waves. She loved trying new recipes and delicious food. She loved family gatherings and spending holidays with her loved ones, where she would often be the life of the party, bringing joy, happiness, and laughter wherever she went.

Debbie is survived by her mother, Rosemarie Martin, who will always love and miss her dearly. Her sister, Kristen Martin Eldridge, along with Kristen's husband, Tim Eldridge. Debbie and Kristen had an unbreakable bond. Kristen spent many long days and nights by her sister's bedside. Making sure Debbie was comfortable and loved.

Debbie is also survived by her cherished in-laws, Velena Puckett, Kenneth Doten. Her brother-in-law Mark Doten, and her adored sister-in-law, Cassandra Spatola. She leaves behind 4 nieces and 1 nephew. Deborah is preceded by her grandmother, Rose Good (Noni), and her father, Paul A. Schaaf.

Although Debbie left us too soon. We will always be blessed with the many treasured and fond memories we shared with her. Debbie will never be forgotten; we will always carry her in our hearts and memories forever more.

Debbie's family would like to send their sincere gratitude to the nursing staff at Tufts Medical Center.
