Arthur Charles Hardin II, 71, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Parkview Care Center.
Arthur was born in Evansville, Indiana on May 9, 1954 to the late Charles and Evelyn (Morris) Hardin. He was a proud union carpenter, retiring in 2009. Arthur was a longtime member of the Local 90 which later merged into the Local 224. He was a generous man and donated to multiple charities, especially ASPCA.He adored his little dog, Arielle. Arthur cherished spending time with his family. He loved fishing with his son and having lunches at the park. During his younger years, Arthur would spend his time working on cars with his dad in their yard. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, basketball, and baseball. His favorite pastime was attending the Greater Evansville Raceway and racing his 1969 Dodge Coronet R/T alongside his wife and brother-in-law, Tom Waller. It was a family affair. Arthur will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.
Arthur is survived by his wife of 45 years, Charlotte (Vowels) Hardin of Evansville, IN; children, John Hardin (Heather) of Henderson, KY, Michelle Duff (Allen) of Evansville, IN, Charles Hardin (Jessica Wagner) of Evansville, IN; sister, Jane DeMotte (Gary) of Evansville, IN; grandchildren, Jordan Hardin, Johnna Hardin (Rebecca), Jarret Hardin (Abigail), Christian Hardin, and Blake Duff; great-grandchild, Brynlee; and nephew, Joshua Buente.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents and by his beloved beagle companion, Shilo.
Private services will be held at Browning Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
