Arthur Heimsoth Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fox Funeral Home - Cole Camp on Feb. 7, 2026.
Arthur Jacob Heimsoth, 87, of Cole Camp, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at his home, Cole Camp. He was born on November 4, 1938, in Cole Camp, Missouri, a son of Elmer and Laura (Brunjes) Heimsoth.

Arthur grew up on a dairy farm northeast of Cole Camp and first attended Lake Creek School and then attended Trinity Lutheran School when it was above the bank. He was baptized on November 20, 1938, and confirmed on April 6, 1952, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cole Camp. He grew up working on the farm delivering milk to homes in the Cole Camp area. Arthur was known for his fast deliveries and occasionally had to be slowed down by flashing lights. In 1956, he graduated from Cole Camp High School.

He then studied electronics at a technical school in Kansas City. In May of 1958, Arthur joined the United States Army. On July 26, 1958, at Miami, Oklahoma, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Geraldine Lois Barnes. This union was blessed with two daughters, Pamela and Priscilla.

After completing boot camp at Fort Leonardwood, Arthur was stationed at Fort Monroe, Virginia, and then Fort Bliss, Texas, where he took classes in defense radar maintenance and was then stationed with the 35th Artillery in Norfolk, Virginia. After his discharge, he worked for IBM, landing in several location, including Coral Springs for thirty years, before settling back in Cole Camp in 2000. Arthur stayed busy by bringing Cole Camp into the computer age and helping all locals with their computer problems. With the help of IBM, Arthur was able to donate computers to both the Lutheran School Association and the Cole Camp R1 School.

Arthur enjoyed woodworking and taking things apart and fixing them. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post No. 305 of Cole Camp, where he held several positions. He was also an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church near Cole Camp.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Heimsoth of the home; daughters, Pamela Mitarotondo and Anthony of Austin, Texas, and Priscilla Heimsoth of Cole Camp; sisters, Alice Sommerfeld and Dennis of Kansas City, Annie Landreville of Independence, and Ruth Wells and Russ Fetters of Sugar Creek; grandchildren, Rachel Pereyra, Anthony Mitarotondo, Forrest Heimsoth, and Elijah Heimsoth; and three great-grandchildren.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Laura Heimsoth.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at St. John's Lutheran Church near Cole Camp with Pastor Tyler Poppen officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery near Cole Camp with military honors by the American Legion Post No. 305 of Cole Camp. Pallbearers will be Elijah Heimsoth, Forrest Heimsoth, Anthony Mitarotondo, Donnie Ehlers, Jimmy Ehlers, and John Landreville. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Perkins, Kim Heimsoth, Donald Heimsoth, and Randy Healen.
