Richard graduated from East High School class of 1959. He enjoyed athletics and participated in basketball, football, tennis and track in high school. He earned a bachelor's degree in education from Edinboro College. He was awarded a fellowship to continue his studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After graduating with his master's degree, he returned to Harbor Creek High School and taught mathematics for 30 years.
In his retirement, he worked in adult education helping people earn their GED. Richard had a restless spirit and was always on the move. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, collecting, and Cleveland baseball. He loved the arts and creating art especially painting and drawing. Richard was kind hearted, almost to a fault, always trying to help someone in need.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Laura Klopfer Wright, his brother, Henry "Hank" Klopfer, and his stepfather, John Seitzinger.
Richard is survived by his daughter, Alicia Bryant, husband Ron; son-in-law, Clive "Bo" Wright III; three grandsons, who were the light of his life, R.J. and Camden Bryant, and Clive Wright IV; and good friend, John Scutella.
Per Richard's wishes, services and burial at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery will be private. Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 E. 38th Street, assisted with the arrangements.

Well Mr. K I am just hearing of your passing today, I am so mad and sad I didn't know sooner. I would have came and paid my final respects to you. Met Rich in high school he was my substitute teacher and he has always been etched in my memory since then. Mr. K wild help me with my math studies when he was substituting because when you had Mr K as a sub it was a free period but he would tell everyone to get caught up with their school work, I always took advantage of Mr. Ks vast knowledge of math and had him explain it to me the only way he could, he made it make sense. In the years past high school we would stay in touch after Covid we fell out of touch and I am sorry for Rich's family and grandson he would talk about his grandkids all the time. The world lost a good and funny man. Rich could make you laugh hd was a good man. Rest Easy Rich
