Kubofcik, Arthur Blair, age 81, of Wayne, NJ formerly of Prospect Park, NJ passed away to meet God our Father in Heaven on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
Arthur was born on July 29, 1943. According to a 1951 Time magazine article, Arthur's generation was coined to be part of the "Silent Generation" of people who grew up during a period of war and economic depression. Arthur was affectionately called 'Arturo' by Marie his mom and 'Artie' by his siblings. Arthur's father was Joseph Kubofcik who supported his family of nine children and wife as a steel mill worker at Bethlehem Steel in Johnstown, PA. Arthur was born 6th out of nine siblings. He was raised in Johnstown, PA. whereby he was a parishioner of St. Benedicts and graduated from Richland High School. As an adolescent, Arthur was proud to run a business delivering newspapers in the neighborhood. He proudly continued the tradition of his older brothers Jim and Kenny of selling newspapers on Sundays in front of St. Benedicts Church. His younger brother, Gerry, continued the tradition of selling newspapers on Sundays too.
Arthur raised his family in Prospect Park for more than 50 years before moving to Wayne in the last three years. He honorably served his country on the USS Uvalde in the United States Navy. After his honorable discharge of service from the U.S. Navy, he supported his family as Plant Manager at Goodyear Tire and Kaysam Corp of America. After leaving the corporate world, he and his wife-Nadya purchased the landmark Triangle Diner in
Hawthorne, NJ. As a husband-and-wife business-owner team, they joyfully served everyone in the Triangle Diner community as if they were family. They went the extra mile to make the Triangle Diner customers feel like you were in their home. They never turned anyone away if they didn't have money to pay for food or drinks. They discreetly and consistently donated food to the homeless. Arthur had a strong Roman Catholic faith and instilled the importance of service and giving back to the community. Arthur's values of his Christian faith and belief in service to others had an immeasurable impact on his son William Wayne Kubofcik who served the Prospect Park community as a St. Paul's Youth Minister, St. Paul's Eucharistic Minister, 2-term Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus, Volunteer Firefighter, Councilman, and Mayor. Arthur was a devoted parishioner of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church of Prospect Park for over 50 years whereby Arthur assisted as an usher and served as a member of the Knights of Columbus. Arthur was a dedicated & loving husband and father. In addition to being a great billiard pool player and playing cards with his friends & family, Arthur was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers super-fan which rubbed on his wife, son, and grandchildren.
Arthur was so proud of his grandchildren whereby Josef & Ramsey who volunteer as EMTs and are studying to be medical doctors while attending Hamilton College & Cornell University and Zachari is a 3-term class president and honors high school student who is preparing to study finance and real estate development, and Jonathan & Brandon own a restaurant and a commercial landscaping & snow-removal business. Arthur had a playful and warm personality. His family and friends considered him an 'Angel' and having the patience of a Saint because he never had a bad word to say about anyone and always found a way to make you feel good either with his smile or with a clean, good-humored joke. Arthur lived the life of a Christian by daily being an example of the following Jesus's teachings in the New Testament: Matthew 22:34-40 "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul. This is the first & greatest of commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the law and prophets hang on these two commandments." Matthew 5:39-42 "do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also." Arthur followed Christ Jesus's teachings by loving God with all his heart, mind, and soul and loving his neighbors as himself. Also, Arthur always forgave others and didn't believe in an "eye for an eye". Arthur's life daily exemplified the scripture of 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails." Arthur had a unique talent of making people feel good around him by always being joyful and never complaining about anything even when he was sick. Arthur personified the scripture of 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 "Be joyful always; Pray continually; Give thanks in all circumstances. For this is God's Will for you in Christ Jesus." Arthur's life was a living testament to Mother Teresa's following quote, "If you want to change the world, go home and love your family..." Arthur was a family man and loved his family dearly. Arthur Kubofcik peacefully passed away in room 316 at St. Joseph's Hospital which gives us all hope because room 316 reminds of John 3:16 scripture which says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
For almost 60 years, Arthur Kubofcik was the beloved partner & husband of Yevkine "Nadya" Kubofcik (nee: Songonlier)whom he loved dearly and told his wife constantly that marrying her was the best decision he's ever made in his life and asked her for a kiss multiple times a day. Loving father of William Kubofcik and his fiancé Vera Silva Medeiros of East Hanover. Dear grandfather of Josef Kubofcik, Ramsey Kubofcik, Zachari Kubofcik, Brandon Silva and Jonathan Silva. Dearest brother of Jim Kubofcik, Maureen Kubofcik, Gerry Kubovcik, the late Carol Bohensky, the late Barbara Wade, the late Patty Robatin, the late Dorothy Petrullo and the late Kenneth Kubofcik. Arthur is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, friends, and family.
