Mary Theresa Kubofcik (nee: Mallot), passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 15, 2024. She would have celebrated her 101st birthday on July 17. She was born on July 17, 1923 in Cleveland, Ohio to Joe & Mary Mallot. She married Steven John Kubofcik on January 14, 1950 on a non-snowy day in Cleveland, Ohio. Mary and Steve were happily married for 60 years before Steve passed away on April 10, 2014. She was a loving mom to Mary Lynn (Daniel) McCaffrey, Steve (Barbara); devoted grandmother of Steven IV, Kathryn (Ryan) Roth, Kevin (Olivia) McCaffrey and Patrick McCaffrey (deceased); and a cherished great grandmother of Hayden, Adalynn, Caroline McCaffrey and Genevieve Roth; dear sister of the late Helen Olexa and the late Rosemary Janosky. Mary was proud of her Slovak heritage. She loved to make perogies, dance the polka and speak in Slovak to her husband. She loved to cook for her children and grandchildren, go to the beach, and go shopping especially at garage sales. She had a beautiful smile for everyone. She never met a stranger that she could not easily talk to and would often ask when their birthdays were so she
could talk about their astrological sign with them.
