Arthur Wacker Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 8, 2025.
Arthur G. Wacker was born June 4, 1931 and peacefully passed into the outstretched arms of his savior on November 2, 2025. His beloved wife and children had just finished playing one of his favorite hymns; Beautiful Savior. (We had encouraged him to go in for a big hug, rather than his usual handshake)!
Many obituaries include history and accomplishments that are focused on the person. Art would have told us he wanted the focus on WHO gave his life meaning. The WHO is simple, Jesus Christ; and through Him, Art's deeply loved family and friends. So here goes
Art married his true love, Janet Byers, on June 15, 1957. Their love, commitment, and faith built the strong foundation on which their marriage flourished, and provided a beautiful example for their three children, nine grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren, (so far), as well as many nieces and nephews!
Art's parents; Arthur G. and Laura (Koehler) Wacker, step-mother Hilda (McHenry) Wacker, sisters Betty Burtt and Carla Theurer, and brother John, all preceded him in their journey home. His brother Paul is, fortunately for us, straggling behind, as baby brothers often do.
Art is survived by his wife Janet; children: Thomas (Caroline), Anne (Troy) Parsell, and Robert (Lana), Grandchildren: Lizzy (Austin Wong) Wacker, Katie (Elliot) Putman, Amber Parsell, Katie (Josh) Whipple, Bethany (Mike) Edwardson, Drew Parsell, Sarah (Max Anderson) Parsell, Cameron Druley, Gabrielle (Chandler) Heeter, John Wacker, and Great-Grandchildren: Halle Gray, Connor Gray, Beckett Gardner, Aubrey Whipple, Zoe Whipple, Tyler Whipple, Everest Edwardson, Magnolia Edwardson, Juniper Edwardson, Gabriella Parsell and Jax Parsell. Boy, oh boy, did he love all of you!
Art lived and laughed and loved! He also worked awfully hard to make sure he didn't put any undue burden on anyone! He had many adventures, accomplishments and things he loved to do. All of you who knew him, I'm sure, can remember and share your stories. However, he would most want all to remember that he faced death in total peace, fully trusting in God's promises of eternal life. His heart's greatest desire was for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to know and put their trust in our Lord, Jesus Christ, and to rest in His love.
AMEN!
