Mrs. Arthur Mae Williams, 83, of Gretna, Florida, transitioned peacefully from this earthly life on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at HCA Florida Capital Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida.

Arthur Mae was born on November 14, 1942, in Brundidge, Alabama, and later made Gretna, Florida, and the Gadsden County community her lifelong home. She was a devoted member of St. Stephen Primitive Baptist Church, where she faithfully worshipped and served. She was employed for many years with the Florida State Hospital, where she worked with dedication and compassion until retirement.

She was known for her love of family, her strong work ethic, and her quiet kindness. Arthur Mae enjoyed simple pleasures and found joy in caring for those around her. She leaves a legacy of love, strength, and perseverance.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 13, 2025, at St. Stephens Primitive Baptist Church, Gretna, Florida, with burial to follow at St. Paul Cemetery, Gretna, Florida. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., at Bradwell Mortuary in Quincy, Florida.

To cherish her memory, she leaves two daughters, Barbara Pugh of Quincy, Florida and Vearen Hughes of Tampa, Florida; one son, James Williams of Tampa, FL; two sisters, Annie Joyce Jackson of Tampa, Florida, and Pearl Hindes of Pahokee, Florida. She also leaves five loving grandchildren: Shantisha Hobbs of Quincy, Florida; Sherri Daniels of Tampa, Florida; Alvin Hughes of Tampa, Florida; Al Hughes of Tampa, Florida; and Mahalie Williams of Tallahassee, Florida.

She leaves 23 great-grandchildren, and two (2) great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.

Arthur Mae will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the love she shared and the life she lived.
