Arturo Fuentes Galaviz, 75, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Arturo was born on August 27, 1950, in Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Petra and Jesus Fuentes. He was a resident of Lubbock for many years, where he shared his life with his children and his beloved wife of 47 years, Olga de Fuentes, until her passing in 2019. Arturo was a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, and a beloved great-grandfather. He worked hard his entire life and will be remembered for his honesty, hardworking spirit and big heart full of kindness. Arturo enjoyed spending time with his family, listening to music, and being a constant supportive presence for his family. He will always be remembered for his warm smile, his kind spirit and his great sense of humor, always ready with a joke or a clever comeback, and always dressed as a cowboy. Arturo was a man who could never stay still, always dedicated to work and finding purpose in everything he did. He will be deeply missed and remembered forever by all who knew and loved him. Arturo left to meet his wife, Olga de Fuentes; his parents, Petra and Jesús Fuentes; and his siblings, Cruz Fuentes and José Fuentes, who welcomed him into eternity.
He is survived by his nine children: Arturo, Eduardo, Rodolfo, Emily, Olga Berenice, Jesús Daniel, Víctor Alfonso, María Esther and Crisol Guadalupe; twenty-nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers.
The viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2025, with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at the House of Angels Funeral Home, 1928 34th Street, Lubbock, TX 79411. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1603 Cherry Ave, Lubbock, TX 79403, followed by burial at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.

Arturo Fuentes Galaviz, de 75 años, un amoroso esposo, padre, abuelo y bisabuelo, falleció pacíficamente el 31 de octubre de 2025, rodeado de sus seres queridos. Arturo nació el 27 de agosto de 1950 en Río Bravo, Tamaulipas, México, hijo de Petra y Jesús Fuentes. Fue residente de Lubbock durante muchos años, donde compartió su vida con sus hijos y su amada esposa por 47 años, Olga de Fuentes, hasta su fallecimiento en 2019. Arturo fue un esposo entregado, un padre lleno de amor, un abuelo orgulloso y un bisabuelo querido. Entregó su vida al trabajo y será recordado por su honestidad, su espíritu trabajador y su gran corazón lleno de bondad. Arturo disfrutaba pasar tiempo con su familia, escuchar música y ser una presencia constante de apoyo para su familia. Siempre será recordado por su cálida sonrisa, su espíritu bondadoso y su gran sentido del humor, siempre con un chiste o una respuesta ingeniosa, y siempre vestido de vaquero. Arturo fue un hombre que nunca podía quedarse quieto, siempre entregado al trabajo y encontrando propósito en todo lo que hacía. Será profundamente extrañado y recordado por siempre por todos los que lo conocieron y amaron. Arturo partió al encuentro de su esposa, Olga de Fuentes; de sus padres, Petra y Jesús Fuentes; y de sus hermanos, Cruz Fuentes y José Fuentes, quienes lo recibieron en la eternidad.
Le sobreviven sus nueve hijos e hijas: Arturo, Eduardo, Rodolfo, Emily, Olga Berenice, Jesús Daniel, Víctor Alfonso, María Esther y Crisol Guadalupe; veintinueve nietos, doce bisnietos, dos hermanas y dos hermanos.
El velorio se llevará a cabo de 12:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m. el jueves 6 de noviembre de 2025, con un Rosario a las 6:00 p.m. en la funeraria House of Angels, 1928 34th Street, Lubbock, TX 79411. El servicio fúnebre se llevará a cabo a las 11:00 a.m. el viernes 7 de noviembre de 2025 en la Iglesia Católica de San Patricio, 1603 Cherry Ave, Lubbock, TX 79403, seguido del entierro en el Cementerio de la Ciudad de Lubbock.
