Arturo Lopez Vasquez, age 89, of Balch Springs, TX, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2024. Born on August 23, 1935, in Bishop, TX, to Manuel Vasquez and Micaela Lopez, Arturo's life was a testament to love, dedication, and service.
He was predeceased by his father, Manuel Vasquez; mother, Micaela, and stepfather, Primitivo Adamez; his beloved wife, Evangelina Vasquez; his son, Roland Vasquez; daughter-in-law, Sonia Vasquez; granddaughters, Christina Leanora Perez and Brittany Nicole Vasquez; and siblings, Manuel Vasquez, Rosie Rangel, and Primitivo Adamez Jr.
Arturo is survived by his devoted children: Lucy (David) Lopez, Nora (Juan) Beza, Arthur Jr. (Anita) Vasquez, Joe (Mirabelle) Vasquez, Thelma Vasquez (Rene), Angela (Samuel) Perez, Oscar (Tara) Vasquez, and Gloria Vasquez. He also leaves behind his siblings, Becky (Tony) Gonzales, Mary Arechiga (George), Lupe (Frank) Delgado, Esther Adamez, and Hector Adamez, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A proud veteran, Arturo served his country in the United States Army and later retired as a certified mechanic, owning Downtown European mechanic shop. He was a faithful member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Dallas, TX, where he led the lectures until his retirement.
Arturo's love story with Evangelina began when he was a disc jockey for KKUB in Brownfield, TX. Evangelina called the radio station to make a request, and the rest was history.
An avid sports fan, Arturo cherished the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. He enjoyed playing golf, listening to Tejano music, and playing the accordion. Above all, Arturo was a wonderful father who loved his family dearly. His legacy of love and dedication will forever be cherished in our hearts.
