Asolete Stanley Burnitt

Asolete Stanley Burnitt was born April 22, 1938, and passed away January 31, 2025, at the age of 86.
She lived to serve others. When she had visitors, she would make coffee. She would always ask if you wanted a grilled cheese, with or without an egg, and even if you said no ma'am I've already had breakfast, it wouldn't be long she would be at the stove and you would have a grilled cheese in front of you, on good days, she would make her famous homemade pancakes or biscuits with fried or scrambled eggs, your choice. If you ever left her house hungry, it was your fault, not hers. She worked 12 years at DeQuincy Memorial Hospital cafeteria, where she cooked and catered to everyone's needs with the same love and compassion that she did in her home kitchen. She lived for God for 66 years with a faithfulness and love that never wavered. She loved her family and church family with the same love and faithfulness. She was a lady who lived a simple and pure life. Her hobbies were serving God, family, and friends. The only thing she collected were Bible's, and that's because she read and studied them so much, that she wore the covers off, or the binding would start coming apart, and she would have to go to a new one.
She is survived by her children, Dora Parker and husband Johnny, Donna Matthews and husband Danny, Eddie Burnitt and wife Karen, and Steve Burnitt; 11 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Sherwood Burnitt; children, Larry Burnitt and wife Phyllis, Eb Burnitt and wife Vivian Marie; great grandchild, Maddie Matthews; sister, Tene Perkins; brothers, JD Stanley, Orville Stanley, and Jobo Stanley; parents, Gus and Dora Stanley.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 6, 2025, with the funeral service being held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 7, 2025, at Hargrove Pentecostal Church, DeQuincy, Louisiana. Interment to follow at Hagar Cemetery, Ragley, Louisiana.
