Atha Lee Odom

Funeral services for Mrs. Atha Lee Odom will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, Oakdale, with Reverends James Vandergriff and Brandon Willis officiating. Interment will follow in Oakhill Cemetery, Oakdale, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale, LA.
Mrs. Odom, 74, of Oakdale, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 20, 2025, in her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Atha was a loving wife, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a faithful and devoted wife to her husband, Roger Odom, for forty-five years, until his passing in 2014. A lifelong believer, Atha was a devoted member of the Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church for many years and lived a life centered around her faith. She read her Bible and prayed daily, often finding comfort and inspiration through Christian television programs.
Atha had a deep love for animals, especially dogs, and shared her warmth and compassion with all of God's creatures. She was admired for her remarkable qualities-humility, generosity, respect for herself and others, and unwavering integrity. Atha expressed love and charity in all she did.
There will never be another soul quite like hers. She is irreplaceable and unforgettable.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Roger Odom; her parents, Hadley and Verdie Cloud; four brothers, R.Z. Cloud, James Cloud, Hadley Odom, Jr., and Dalton Cloud; three sisters, Myrtie McDaniel, Audrey Willis, and Katherine Willis; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include one sister, Peggy Cloud; one sister-in-law, Caryline Cloud; one brother-in-law, Tommy Odom; along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and one treasured friend who called her "Auntie."
A time of visitation will be held at Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale, on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, Oakdale, on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. until time service.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Jacob Willis, Nathan Deville, Dennis Yates, Eddie Ray Carter, John Sanford, and Jaerod Robert.
