Audrey J. Beegle
Audrey Lennea Johnson Beegle, 95, passed away on September 1, 2025. Audrey was born in Jamaica, NY on September 25, 1929. She is predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Robert Floyd Beegle, whom she married December 25, 1947 in Woodbury, NY, her parents, Nina Lee Wilson and David Rider Johnson; her brother, Lt. David Lee Johnson, USN; and her sisters, Erla Tavis Miller and Almeda Eva Lampe.
Audrey is survived by three daughters: Nancy Lee Badger (Richard), Kim Holly Beegle, DVM and Lynn Erla Beegle of Raleigh, NC: two grandsons, Robert Paul Badger and his husband Joseph of Georgia, VT, and Eric Ellison Badger of Raleigh, NC. She is also survived by her niece Darcy Buccheri (William) of Lake Ronkonkoma NY, and nephew Thomas Tavis (Donna) of South Shore, KY.
Audrey was a long-time resident of the Spruce Creek Golf and Country Club in Volusia County, Florida, and a current long-distance member of Westminster-by-the Sea Presbyterian Church, Volusia County Genealogical Society, and the Sugar Mill Chapter of the Daughters of the
American Revolution.
Audrey and Bob raised their children in Huntington, Long Island, New York. Audrey was a long-time member of The Congregational Church of Huntington. She worked as a 'Kelly Girl' in Hicksville, NY, and she enthusiastically researched her family tree, accumulating valuable genealogical data on the Ryder and Lee families.
Audrey enjoyed taking cruise ship vacations with her husband Bob, and she devotedly visited him at the Emory L. Bennett State Veterans Nursing Home for eight years until his passing on February 2, 2019. Audrey moved to Overture of Crabtree in Raleigh, NC in March of 2020 to be near her three daughters. She befriended many Overture residents and taught several to play Mah Jongg.
After a private service, interment will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL
to be with her husband Bob.
