Audrey Capps

Mrs. Audrey Gwen (Williams) Capps of Brooks, Kentucky formerly of Cumberland County, passed from this life on Friday, December 23, 2022 at the Westminster Terrace Healthcare in Louisville, Kentucky, having attained the age of 87 years, 3 months, & 10 days. She was born in the Christian Chapel Community of Cumberland County, Kentucky on Friday, September 13, 1935 the daughter of Richard B. Hayes "Rich" & Adgie Clara (Coop) Williams. She was a member of, and grew up in the Christian Chapel Church of Christ, Baptized at an early age, attended the Hebron Lane Church of Christ in Bullitt County, Kentucky, graduate of Cumberland County High School class of 1952, was a bank teller for over 30 years at the Old First National Bank in Louisville, very active in the 4-H when the girls were involved, was an excellent cook & loved to entertain with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, James E. Capps, whom she wed on October 18, 1955, he passed away on April 19, 2012, her daughter, Letecia Anne (Capps) King who passed away on September 19, 2013, Siblings, Carolyn Crawley, Richard Duane Williams, Judith Clare Cloyd, Nephew, Timothy Cloyd, brothers-in-law, Carvil Watson, J.H. "Foots" Crawley & Dalton Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Ann (& Bro. Roger) Hillis of Louisville, Sisters, Barbara Ann Smith of Louisville & Bethada Watson of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, grandchildren, Lesley Anne Hillis, Jeremy Hamilton Hillis & Lacy Ann King, along with several other family members and friends.
The funeral service was conducted on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. C.S.T. in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky with Bro. Raymond Castillo, Bro. Roger Hillis, & Bro. Charles Smith officiating. Congregational singing was led by Richard Watson. Burial was in the Christian Chapel Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. Casket bearers were Wendell Wilson, Andrew Wilson, Robert Watson, Jim Brewington, Mark Smith, and John Crawley. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Christian Chapel Cemetery.
