Audrey M. Janowczyk

Audrey M. Janowczyk, 85, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away at 9:55 p.m., Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Robin's Nest in Mill Creek, IN.
She was born on February 7, 1937 to the late Rene and Julia (Vandewalle) DeCook in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong area resident. Along with her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald J. Janowczyk; a granddaughter, Cindy Janowczyk; four sisters, Ann Molnar; Alice Dhaeze; Agnes Bjoraas; Arlene Cwidak; and three brothers, Albert, Andrew, and August DeCook.
Audrey was a graduate of Washington High School in South Bend, IN.
On April 27, 1957, as Audrey M. DeCook, she married her high school sweetheart Ronald J. Janowczyk at the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Thomas Street in South Bend, IN. Ron and Audrey shared 58 years of marriage together, before Ron passed away on November 8, 2015. Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Ronette (Mike) McNulty of Osceola, Indiana; Deborah (Tim) Taylor of South Bend, Indiana; Lynn (Paul) Karfomenos of Hardeeville, SC; two sons, Ronald R. (Lori) Janowczyk of Colleyville, Texas; Timothy R. (Janelle) Janowczyk of Granger, Indiana; twelve grandchildren, Christy, Kelly, and Carly McNulty; Nick (Andrea) McNulty; Amber (Howard) O'Rourke; Timothy (Michelle) Taylor; Jake Janowczyk; Joseph (Rebecca) Janowczyk; Lauren (Nick) Anello; Anastasia (Robert) Glassburn; Alysse Karfomenos; and Julia Janowczyk; fourteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Antoinette Youts of Osceola, IN; and a sister-in-law, Sophie DeCook.
Audrey was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, where she belonged to the Altar & Rosary Society. She enjoyed tailgating for Notre Dame Football games and visiting the casinos. Most of all, she cherished time with her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2022 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2822 Corpus Christi Drive, South Bend, IN. The family will greet guests one hour prior to the Mass. Private interment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.
