Audrey Anne Leclair, aged 60, passed away on June 20, 2025, in Barrington, IL, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on February 6, 1965, in Park Ridge, IL, Audrey was a mountain of strength, love, and bravery throughout her life.
Audrey's early years in Arlington Heights were filled with the warmth of family, particularly the influence of her late grandmother, Adeline Safranek, whose memory she cherished deeply. On September 15, 1990, Audrey's heart found its counterpart when she married Mark Leclair, her steadfast partner in life's dance. Together, they built a family founded on the principles of love and support. Audrey's spirit was as vibrant as the cookies she loved to bake, a tradition that brought joy to many during the holiday seasons. Her kitchen was not just a place for baking but a haven where love and laughter were the main ingredients of every recipe.
Her dedication to her community was evident through her volunteer work with the National Weather Service. Audrey's passion for meteorology was matched only by her skill in capturing the beauty and ferocity of storms through her lens. Her photographs were more than just images; they were stories of nature's dance, which she shared with enthusiasm and pride.
Professionally, Audrey's heart belonged to the world of gymnastics. At WLAC Gymnastics, she not only found her calling but also inspired a love for the sport in others. Her grace and dedication shone through her work, leaving a lasting impact on all those who had the privilege of knowing her in this capacity.
Beyond her contributions to the community and her professional achievements, Audrey's role as a family matriarch was paramount. She is survived by her loving husband, Mark, and her adoring daughters, Emily (Joe) McDevitt and Hannah (Jacob) Artner. Her grandchildren, Charlotte, Oliver, and Eleanor, were the apples of her eye, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Audrey's love extended to her fur baby, Sebastian, and grand fur baby, Millie, who brought her immeasurable comfort and joy.
Those who knew Audrey would describe her as loving, spirited, and selfless. She was the pillar upon which her family could rest, the friend who was always there with a listening ear, and the volunteer who gave without expecting anything in return. Her spirit was a guiding light that will continue to shine in the lives of those she touched.
Audrey's legacy is one of love, a life lived with passion and purpose. She was a woman who embraced each day with courage and kindness, leaving behind a trail of memories that her family and friends will treasure forever. Her story does not end with her passing but continues in the hearts of those who loved her. Audrey Anne Leclair will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will live on, guiding and inspiring just as it always has.
Services will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Justen Funeral Home, 3700 Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry. The family will receive guests from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
