Audrey Marie Barnes Rewis, a cherished member and servant of her community, passed from this life and into eternal rest on Monday, June 2, 2025 in the comfort of her home. She was born in Homerville, Georgia on November 6, 1955 to Mr. Marvin and Marthann (Landrum) Barnes. She grew up spending time between Clinch and Baker County and eventually made her home in Glen St. Mary. Audrey was a doting mother and wife, keeping an immaculate home and assisting her husband with his business in every aspect. Her ministry was her cooking, as she was a skilled and renowned cook. She was known to prepare meals for families during a loss of a family member or simply for anyone who needed dinner. She loved entertaining company and hosting family get-togethers.In her free time, Mrs. Audrey enjoyed traveling. She loved trips to the beach and especially trips to Las Vegas or Atlantic City, where she could be found at the blackjack table or a slot machine. You didn’t bother Mrs. Audrey at home in the afternoon when her shows were on, particularly “The Days of Our Lives”. She was also an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves.Audrey will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt who always put others before herself.She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Dorsey and Lula Barnes; maternal grandparents, Scott and Cletis Landrum; her parents, Marvin and Marthann Barnes, Sr.; and siblings, Terry Lee Barnes, Marvin Barnes, II, and Alan Barnes.She is survived by her beloved husband of fifty-five years, O.D. Rewis of Glen St. Mary; children, Chris (Cheryl) Rewis of Glen St. Mary and DeAnna Rewis McDuffie of Macclenny; grandchildren, Sydni McDuffie, Scott Rewis, Lynsay Rewis, and Gracie Belle Thrift; a special nephew, Brad (Ashley) Thrift of Macclenny; Marcus Barnes and nieces Kayona Barnes Hoard, Casey Barnes, Ashley Barnes all of Glen St. Mary and her beloved dog, Maddie Ruth Rewis; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.A funeral service to honor Audrey’s life will be held Sunday, June 8, 2025 at 4:00 PM at Christian Fellowship Temple with Pastors David Thomas and Timmy Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Macedonia Cemetery.The staff of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home is honored to serve the Rewis family during their time of loss.
