Audria Sue (Conger) Wells, 79, of Newburgh, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed from this world at home on Monday, August 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Audria was born March 7, 1946, in Evansville, Indiana, to James Aubrey Conger and Clara Marie (Walker) Conger, both from Crittenden County, Kentucky, who preceded her in death. The youngest of four daughters, she was the apple of her father's eye and self-proclaimed daddy's girl. She is now reunited in heaven with her parents and sisters Janey (Phil) Ennis, Mary Ann (Richard) Thompson and Barbara (Kurt) Amburgy.
Audria radiated joy with her beautiful smile, contagious laugh and generosity of spirit. She was an amazing cook and loved to share family recipes. She traveled the world with lifelong friend, Betty Fisher, and came home from each trip eager to share tales of their adventures. A talented singer and theatrical performer, she could wow you with a song and make you laugh without saying a word; just a facial expression was enough. Her joyful spirit and love of life was evident in each and every interaction.
Audria dearly loved her extended family and took the time to stay connected over the years with frequent calls and visits. Her advice and encouragement were sources of great strength to her loved ones and will be terribly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Wayne Wells, five children, Eric Welsh, Christopher (Michelle) Welsh, Tiffany Welsh, Lisa (Charles) Simpson, Jami (Fred) Wells, thirteen grandchildren, Loren, Dalton, Shelbie, Samuel, Carlis, Riley, Gabriell, Ellery, Brooklynn, Jaleigha, Addison, Nina and Megan and two great-grandchildren Auria and Naomi. She will be greatly missed by her many cherished nieces and nephews, who knew her as "Aunt Sue", and dear friends Curt & Wendy Eberline, Betty Fisher, Charlotte DeVault and Cathy Bywater, who stood by Audria through life's many ups and downs.
Together with Wayne, she built a life built on faith, family and friendship. Her lasting legacy of love and service to others is a shining example of the Christian values instilled by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 2, from 10 am to 12 pm.; Services beginning at 12 pm at Sunset Funeral Home and Cemetery in Evansville, with Pastor Kim Wells officiating. Burial will follow immediately.

I have so many childhood memories of Audria and her home. Her house was a safe place, and always open to us kids. I remember when I was young and Christmas was coming. I had my heart set on a Cabbage Patch doll. My parents couldn´t afford it at the time. Audria got one for them to put under the tree. My heart was so full that year! I can still see her in the kitchen making homemade biscuits or at the table with my mom drinking coffee and laughing. She was tough and caring and loved us in her own way, she will always hold a special place in my heart.

So very sorry to learn of Audria´s passing. I knew her from working at Mead Johnson/Bristol Myers Squibb. She always had a laugh and/or smile to share with everyone. Thoughts and prayers to her family in the days ahead.
