Augustina R. Arroyo our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at St. Francis Home in Saginaw, Michigan. Augustina was born January 4, 1953, to the late Jesus and Augustina (Amador) Escamilla. She obtained her bachelor's degree in nursing. She provided years of dedicated service and caring for others. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, cooking, sewing, gardening, playing softball and spending time with family and friends. Augustina was known for being a handywoman from working on her house or helping her sister, Janie, with projects including reconditioning furniture.
Augustina is survived by her children, Roy (Toni Murphy) Arroyo, Jr., Jessica Arroyo, Monica (Douglas) Coleman and Brittany Wald; grandchildren, Noah, Rezner, Liam, Eathen, Izaak, Alana, Avianna, Demetrius, Fabian, Marcus, Niana, Frankie, Clinnon, Nevaeh, Chase, Santanna; great grandchildren, Jasper and Jordyn; siblings, Juanita Escamilla, Martha Paiz, Maria Aldaoud, Juanita "Jane" (Bob) Miller, Ben (Kathy) Escamilla, Joe (Mary) Escamilla, Victoria Garcia, Bobby (Maryann) Escamilla, Tony Escamilla, Larry Escamilla, Gloria (Randy) Willis, and George (Jessica) Escamilla, brother-in-law, Andrew Stewart; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Augustina (Amador) Escamilla, siblings, Robert Escamilla, Jessie Escamilla, Frank Escamilla and Ebita Stewart and Suzie (Benjamin) Woods; brothers-in-law, Mahmould Aldaoud, Delmiro Paiz; nephew, A.J. Stewart; great niece, Faith Monville.
Visitation for Augustina will take place on Monday, December 12, 2022, from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m. at Squires Funeral Home, 211 N. Henry St., Bay City, Michigan 48706. Funeral service for Augustina will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at In His Presence Church, 4521 Monitor Road, Bay City, Michigan 48706 with Pastor Mike Baranek officiating. There will be a time of visitation at the church on Tuesday morning from 10-11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Family Wishes in care of Roy Arroyo, Jr. An online guest registry is available at www.squiresfuneralhome.com to share condolences and memories of Augustina with her family.
