Aurea Serrano

Aurea Serrano, 92 years old, passed on February 17, 2026, in Brooklyn, New York. Born in Ciales, Puerto Rico on September 3, 1933, to Everalda Chevere Colon and Andres Chevere. Wife of Tito Ramon Serrano, who predeceased her on August 9, 2001. Member of All Saints-Our Lady of the Rosary of Pompeii Church community. Acquired numerous certificates from religious courses throughout her life. Worked as a Packer at Sports Green. Aurea enjoyed travel, and playing dominoes with neighbors. In addition, enjoyed activities at the senior center Love Joy. Aurea will be remembered for her strength and perseverance.

Aurea had six children. Her first son predeceased her when he was two years of age. Aurea's second son predeceased her on October 3, 2017. She is survived by four daughters: Sonia Serrano, Aida Rodriguez, Daisy Melendez-spouse Jose Hiram Melendez, and Mirta Serrano. Grandchildren are Joan Rodriguez-spouse Francisco Rodriguez, Stephanie Christine Roldan-Latony-spouse Anthony Latony, Kevin Samuel Lopez-spouse Stefanie Lopez, Venus Crystal Vazquez-spouse Efrain Vazquez, Kenneth Andrew Vialet-spouse Felicia Carrington-Vialet, Jaysen Melendez, Jose Joshua Melendez-spouse Annamaria Melendez, Priscilla Serrano and Analeida Serrano Diaz-spouse John Diaz. Great-grandchildren are Kaitlyn Ariel Ruiz, Abigail Rodriguez, Kristen Krystal Ruiz, Francisco Rodriguez, Jr., Kendall Brianna Ruiz, Matheu Geoffrey Latony, Aiden Ryan Latony, Skyelin Madison Latony, Kesnie Irie Lopez, Kasen Kevin Lopez, Brandon Michael Vazquez, Jonathan Matthew Vazquez, Robert Daniel Vazquez, Kaiden Amir Vialet, Kameron Amin Vialet, Joshua Jose Melendez, Jr., Faith Melendez, Noah Melendez, Samantha Jae Melendez, Marcus Christopher Ivey, Brian Anthony Ivey, Jaxen Luis Mose, Gabrielle Ivory Serrano, Daniel Lucas Droz-Ramos, Greyson Liam Ramos, and Tyler Valentino Diaz.
