Aurelia "Ree" Stephanie Ross Popescu, November 14, 1937 (age 87) of Phoenix, AZ formerly Chicago, IL has found eternal peace with the Lord on August 9, 2025. Wife to the late John Sr (2000) and Mother to sons John (Cheryl), Thomas, and Robert. Daughter of the late John Ross Irene Andrews. Sister of the late George Ross (Mary Ross, wife) and Aunt to Sherry Illovici (Ron, Husband) Great Aunt to Tyler & Rachel and Susan Maxim Minjoe (Mike, Husband) Great Aunt to Greg & Steven . Further survived by four Grandchildren, Nick (Wife, Meagan with Great-Grandchildren Beckham & Hallie); Ryan (Wife, Holly with Great-Grandchildren Scarlett, Claire, and Graham); Scott (Wife, Shelby with Great-Grandchild Theo); Tyler (Wife, Shannyn with Great-Grandchild Silas). Aurelia was a past president of the lady's society and founding church member at St. Mary's Romanian Orthodox Church in Chicago, IL

Aurelia loved her family, her church, as well as all of her dear friends and her Bishon dogs. She enjoyed making her famous nut rolls (secret Ree recipe on DVD) and enjoyed an occasional tall rum & coke with light ice along with those Hershey's chocolates (hidden all over the house). She also enjoyed her daily trips to Frys, Target, Costco and the bank as well as IHOP for her pancakes and syrup. Her smile will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.

Visitation at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N Cicero Ave. Chicago IL 60646 on Sunday, August 17th from 3:00 – 8:00pm, with a prayer service at 5:30pm. Funeral Monday, August 18th at 10am at Saint Mary Romanian Orthodox Church, 4225 N Central Ave, Chicago, IL 60634. Interment Rosehill Cemetery.
