I had been friends with Austin since we were 14-15 years old. He confided in me for a lot of things, and we spoke off and on after he moved away from Houston. I made a point to let him know he was always appreciated and loved by me because he deserved as such. I cannot believe he is gone. I am so sorry for your family. I hope you know he was a wonderful person. He was my best friend. I don't have the words to express how sad I am that I will never get to speak to him again. I kept texting him and I didn't know why he didnt answer until now. He was an amazing person.

I do not know your son, but my nephew is in the Army, and several family members served as well in the Army. I want to thank Sgt. Rhodes and his family for his service to our country and keeping all of us safe. Very commendable. May he rest in peace.
