Deborah Yard Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bramley Funeral Home and Reception Center - Divernon on Jul. 11, 2025.
Deborah "Debby" Yard, 73 of Farmersville passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at HSHS St. John's Hospital, Springfield.

She was born December 10, 1951 in Springfield, the daughter of Robert and Helma Reuter Lubben. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bill, and her aunt and uncle Harold & Della Fuchs, who were like second parents and truly devoted to her.

She married Dennis Yard on June 23, 1972 in Farmersville at Zion Lutheran Church.

Debby graduated from Lincolnwood High School in 1970. She attended University of Missouri in Columbia, Mo and graduated from Western Illinois University with a degree in education. She worked as a substitute teacher in local schools before working as a seamstress at Nancy's Closet in Springfield. She worked for the State of Illinois at DHS for 32 yrs before retiring as a supervisor. She made many lost lasting friendships from her time at DHS.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was always available for her grandkids. They were the highlight of her life.

She was an excellent cook and could make a coconut cream pie that was incredible. Just like her Aunt Della's.

She enjoyed going to Texas to visit her brother, Bill. Her favorite things there were walking on the beach, going to the rodeo and enjoying a good margarita.

Surviving are her husband, Denny; three children, Tina (Chris) Zimmerman, Jonathan (Meredith) Yard and Doug Yard; five grandchildren, Mallory and Grant Zimmerman, Montgomery, Madison and Gretchan Yard; many cousins including, Nancy Fuchs Phelan who was more like a sister than cousin. They could answer questions for the other; her brothers children, Robert (Krissa) Lubben & Sarah (Mike) Makuta and their two children, Meagan & Madison; Arlen & Lydia Reuters children whom she and her parents visited often in St Louis, Mo.; the Reuter families from the Caryle, Il area.

She loved her fur babies Mini and Lovey who were her lap cats and her black lab, Jake, whom she spoiled with numerous treats. She will be greatly missed by all of the above.

Visitation will be from 5pm till 7pm, Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Bramley Funeral Home, 150 Reichert Rd, Divernon. Services will be at 10am, Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Girard. Burial will be in Rovey Cemetery, Farmersville.
