Arthur Bady Muncy, 91, of Danville passed away on Tuesday, May 20. 2025. Born January 1, 1934, he was the son of the late James and Oma Dials Muncy. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Phyllis Ann Becknell Muncy and 5 siblings.
Bady was known by many through his work at Danville Independent Schools, EKU Danville Center, Christian Church Children's Home, and the GED Testing Center. However, he was also known as a craftsman, horticulturist, storyteller, farmer, builder, mason, baker, family man, and loyal friend to so many people he loved. If it was raining, he would go inside and make braided rugs, bake, or stitch. If it was sunny, he would be working outside on endless projects. One of his favorite things to do was hang out with his grandchildren, teaching them his many skills and talents. Lastly, Bady and Phyllis made delicious food and delivered it to friends and family, as a way to show fellowship. Everyone liked seeing them show up!
Bady is survived by his daughter, Marla (Oscar) Beck of Danville; son, Brent (Jennifer) Muncy of Greensburg; brother, John Muncy of Inez; grandchildren: Kate Edmiston of Stanford, Will Muncy of Springfield, Matthew (Casey) Edmiston of Richmond, Molly (Zack) Lewis of Richmond, and Ty Allen and Trent Allen of Berea; and great grandchildren: Ren Heid, Macey Edmiston, and Levi Edmiston.
Visitation will be 10:30 am-12:30 pm, on Tuesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12:30 pm. The burial will be at Camp Nelson National Cemetery with a 2:30 pm committal. Pallbearers are Brent Muncy, Oscar Beck, Matt Edmiston, Will Muncy, John Glen Muncy, Lowell King, and Ren Heid.
