Barbara A. Campagna, a beacon of kindness and love, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on September 27, 1932, to Annie Mae (Pratt) Manchester and Everett Linwood Manchester, Barbara's life was a testament to the strength and devotion of a woman whose heart was truly the foundation of her family.
A lifelong resident of
Chicopee, MA, Barbara was a proud graduate of Chicopee High School. Her education there laid the groundwork for a life filled with compassion, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to those she held dear. Barbara's life was one of service and dedication, not only to her family but also to the community that she cherished.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Gerald E. Campagna, in 2006, Barbara's love story with Gerald was one for the ages, filled with shared dreams and mutual respect. Together, they built a life that would become a legacy of love for their family. Barbara was also preceded in death by her parents, Annie Mae and Everett Linwood Manchester, her brothers Buddy, John, David, Wayne, Richard, and Edwin Manchester, and her sisters Edith Jarry and Lorraine Benoit.
Barbara's spirit lives on through her loving daughter, Denise B. (Campagna) Prevost, and her son-in-law, Stephen V. Prevost. She was the cherished grandmother to Joseph S. Prevost and Timothy J. Prevost, and the proud great-grandmother to Bryce Prevost. Her love also extends to her granddaughter-in-law, Samantha Prevost, who, along with the rest of the family, will carry Barbara's legacy forward.
Barbara's life was a portrait of devotion. She was a loving and devoted daughter to her late parents, a caring sister, a dedicated wife, and a nurturing mother and grandmother. Her final days were spent surrounded by the love and care of her family, as she passed away at her daughter's house after a long illness.
Those who knew Barbara will remember her as an amazing, strong, and loving woman. Her kindness and loving nature were the hallmarks of her character, touching the lives of everyone she met. Barbara's ability to listen, her gentle guidance, and her unconditional love were gifts that she freely gave and that will be deeply missed by all.
In accordance with her wishes, the family is planning a funeral service in the spring at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery and interment with her WW2 Navy Veteran husband & the love of her life, Gerald E. Campagna.
