Barbara Ann Alexander

Barbara A. Alexander, age 77, of Whitehall, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016 in Whitehall. She was born March 4, 1939 in Muskegon, the daughter of Lester and Dorothy (Burley) Martin. Barb married Bill Alexander on April 13, 1957. Bill was pastor at White Lake Assembly of God for twenty years. Barb helped along side her husband in all areas of church life while holding the title of church secretary. She was an avid reader and enjoyed volunteering at the elementary school at Whitehall in the Adopt A Reader Program. She also volunteered and later worked for Hospice of Muskegon County. She is survived by her children, Pamela (Rodney) Knapp, Peggy (Randy) Seaver, Bill Alexander, Jr. and Dan Alexander; grandchildren, Jennifer Knapp, Angelia (Kerrigan) Skelly, Gabriel (Patrisha) Knapp, Rachelle (Nick) Nettle, Amanda (Scott) Koziak, Jake (Briona) Seaver and Jim (Jen) Seaver; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Donna Martin, Sue (Chuck) Crowell, June (Doug) Freeman and Tom (Paula) Martin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Bill Alexander; infant daughter, Rochelle (Rae) Alexander; her parents, Lester and Dorothy; great-granddaughter, Makaila Knapp; brother, Jim Martin; infant sister, Judith Martin; and sister-in-law, Maggie Martin. Visitation is Thursday, December 15th, beginning at 5 pm at New Beginnings Church, 200 S. Division in Whitehall. The funeral service will follow Thursday at 6 pm at New Beginnings Church.
