Barbara Jean (Wolfe) Allen, a longtime resident of Frisco, Texas, passed away on April 10, 2025, at the age of 85. She was born on November 5, 1939, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to her devoted parents, Ervin and Josephine (Smith) Wolfe.
Barbara grew up in Tulsa and attended the University of Tulsa. After college, she met the love of her life while working at her father's auto company. She and Walter Allen Jr. were married on February 26, 1960, and spent the next 42 years together in and around Plano, Texas, raising their two children, Mark and Deborah.
Barbara had a successful career in real estate that spanned over forty years. In her free time, she found joy in being with her family-especially her three granddaughters, who were the light of her life. She also cherished time with close friends in her Frisco Lakes community, where she enjoyed playing card games and sharing laughter. A frequent visitor to Las Vegas, Barbara proudly earned the title of "slot master" among those who knew her best.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Mark Lee Allen, and daughter-in-law, Cathy (Cates) Allen, of Plano, Texas; her granddaughters, Amanda Lynn Allen, of Heilbronn, Germany, Meagan Leigh Allen, of Dallas, Texas, and Amy Elizabeth Allen, of New York City, New York; her sister, Linda Hefley, of Wichita, Kansas; sisters-in-law, Marolyn Needham, and Carolyn Cowling, both of Springdale, Arkansas; and many beloved extended family members.
Barbara was preceded in death by parents Elvin and Josephine Wolfe; her husband, Walter Allen, Jr.; and her daughter, Deborah Jean Love.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 18, 2025, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, 75013. Following the funeral, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.
