Barbara Ann Anderson, age 77, was welcomed into heaven on Monday, September 25, 2023.   Barbara Ann Buckley was born on April 15, 1946, to Calvin C. Buckley and Novella M. (Hamilton) Buckley. Barbara dearly loved her younger brother, C. Curtis "Curt" Buckley, born April 18, 1948.

Growing up in Concord, Massachusetts, Barbara was an active Girl Scout, joined the West Concord Union Church, and was a member of The Order of the Rainbow Girls. On September 21, 1963, Barbara was installed as Worthy Advisor of the Rainbow Girls.

Barbara attended Peter Bulkeley Junior High School and graduated from Concord-Carlisle High School in 1964. Barbara earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Fitchburg State College in 1968. Throughout her school years, Barbara developed a love of the theater and polished her singing skills, which remained with her for the rest of her life.

In the fall of 1968, Barbara and her childhood friend moved to Laramie, WY, where Barbara got her first nursing job at the Laramie Hospital.

Barbara married Andrew "Jack" Anderson of Lusk, WY, on July 20, 1969. History buffs will remember this day as the day the astronauts walked on the moon.

Barbara and Jack soon moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where they welcomed their first son, John Anderson, in February 1970 and their second son, Steven Anderson, in April 1972.

Barbara and Jack divorced in 1975 and moved the boys to Denver, Colorado.

Barbara was an active member of Parkview Congregational Church in Aurora, Colorado, since 1978. There, she held numerous leadership positions, volunteered her time, efforts, and energies, and raised her two sons in the Christian faith.

While in Denver, Barbara worked as a Registered Nurse in Geriatric Care, Emergency Room, Recovery, and Orthopedics. Over the years, Barbara became an accomplished and well-respected nurse who improved the quality of countless lives. Barbara retired on May 6, 2011, but never stopped caring for people.

Always curious about what was on the horizon, Barbara traveled the United States with grand adventures in Alaska, England, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Bosnia, and Croatia.

Barbara's love of education took her to Regis University, where she earned her master’s in healthcare education in 2006. Barbara later taught healthcare students at Pickens Technical College from 2007 to 2010.

In retirement, Barbara continued volunteering in the healthcare system until COVID-19 stopped everything in 2020.

Barbara is survived by her son, John Anderson, daughter-in-law Denyse Anderson, and granddaughter, Sarah Anderson, as well as her son, Steven Anderson, and daughter-in-law, Milena Anderson. She is also survived by her nephews Jonathan and James Buckley, nieces Jennifer Hendrickson and Jessica Revers, and all their children.

Barbara's legacy is her love for family, her passion for learning, and her unbreakable spirit for God and Country. Do these, and you honor her life.

Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Barbara for her funeral service on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the Concord Funeral Home, 74 Belknap Street, Concord, MA. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Maynard. In addition, another service will be held on Saturday October 14, 2023, at 2:30PM (MST) at the Parkview Congregational Church, 12444 E. Parkview Drive, Aurora, CO 80011
