Mrs. Barbara Ann Brantley James, age 75, of Pearson, Ga. passed away Sunday, January 05, 2025, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross, Ga. following an extended illness.

Born February 19, 1949, in Coffee County, Mrs. James was the daughter of Albert Brantley and Evelyn Roberson Brantley. She had made her home in Atkinson County for most of her life and worked as a waitress and accountant, before poor health forced her retirement. She loved flowers, gardening, making crafts, shopping and talking with family and friends. She was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommie James, granddaughter, Jessica Rose Moore, great granddaughter, Seriah James, sisters, Cathy Harrell and Connie Hogan and niece, Samantha Harrell. 

Survivors include:

Daughter: Michelle Moore and husband David of Pearson, Ga.

2 Sons: D.J. James and wife Michelle of Peason, Ga.

            Jamie James and wife Andrea of Pearson, Ga.

8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. 

Funeral services for Mrs. James were held on Thursday, January 09, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Sunnyside Baptist Church in Pearson, Ga. with Rev. Mark Williams and Bro. Steve Sirmans officiating. Special music included “Amazing Grace” by the attending congregation, “Love” rendered by soloist Laverne Summerlin, with Becky Mitchell accompanying at the piano. “Let’s Meet by the River “and “Go Rest on That Mountain” were played by CD. Soft music for the prelude and the postlude was by Becky Mitchell, pianist. The interment followed in Sunnyside Cemetery. 

Serving as active pallbearers were Mike Harrell, D. J. James, Jamie James, Jesse James, David Moore and Aubrey James.
