Mr. Isom Wesley Mizell, age 66, of Axson, Ga., passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at his home in Axson, Ga.
Mr. Mizell was born December 24, 1958, in Winter Park, Fl. to the late Roy, Jr. and Doris Jewell Mizell. He made his home in Axson, Ga. and worked at Cady Bag Company as a machine operator until his retirement. Mr. Mizell enjoyed hunting, fishing, racing, and just riding around. He was a member of Ozias Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Faron Mizell.
Survivors include:
Wife: Teresa Delk Mizell of Axson, Ga.
2 Sons: Eric Mizell and wife Candice of Axson, Ga.
Clay Mizell and wife Melissa of Axson, Ga.
Brother: Harvey “Lil John” Mizell of Axson, Ga.
4 Grandchildren: Dade Mizell and wife Ashlyn, Bailey Mizell, Bethany Mizell, and Devanna Mizell
2 Great-Grandchildren: Kelcen Mizell and Conlee Mizell
Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Mizell were held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. with Rev. Larry Johnson and Rev. Edward Mathews officiating. Special music included “Lead Me Home”, “When I Get Where I’m Going”, and “Jesus on the Mainline” by Michael Johnson. The interment followed in Utah Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were: Eric Mizell, Dade Mizell, Brad Mizell, Bailey Mizell, Damon Mizell, and Kyle Delk
Honorary pallbearers were: Clay Mizell, Harvey “Lil John” Mizell, James Gore, Layne Gurley, Gene Davis, Pat Delk, Johnny Jewell, and Rodney White.
Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
