Barbara Orlene Bartunek

Barbara Orlene Bartunek 93 passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026 at the Manhattan Nursing and

Rehab Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, February 28 th at the

Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. with burial following at the

Natchez Trace Cemetery. Dress is casual.

Mrs. Bartunek was born September 11, 1932 at Alcester, SD and was the daughter of Orlo E. Bruner and

Gladys Lillian Bruner. She married Joseph Bartunek on December 21, 1952. She was employed by

Equitable Life Ins. in Jackson, MS. She was a baptized member in the Methodist church in Sioux Falls, SD

and attended Ascension Lutheran Church in Jackson, MS. She also played the clarinet in her high school

marching band.

Husband, Joseph Bartunek, her parents and her sister Varona "Teko" Bruner Jellema and niece, Valerie

Jellema preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Clay Joseph Bartunek and husband Virgil

Craig Haga and Kirk Orlo Bartunek and former daughter in-law, Lisa and 3 grandchildren, Janice

Jeanfreau and husband Ben, Melissa Morrison and husband Nate and Jared Bartunek and wife Kelly; 6

great grandchildren and 2 nephews, Mark Jellema and wife Ann and Wade Jellema and wife Cindy.
