Barbara Beck

Barbara Ann Beck, 83, of Jefferson City passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024, at her home. She was born September 7, 1940 in Jefferson City the daughter of the late Leo and Ruby (Detwiler) Toebben. Barbara graduated Jefferson City High School class of 1958. She met the love of her life Ralph Beck and the two were united in marriage on December 2, 1961 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Honey Creek. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Barbara worked as a sales representative for United Telecom and Sprint, retiring after 31 years of service in 1999. She enjoyed the occasional slots at any number of the riverboat casinos from Boonville to St. Louis, listening to the St. Louis Cardinal games, Mizzou Basketball, and most of all spending time with her family especially at their cabin at the lake.
Barbara leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Keith Beck (Cheryl) of Jefferson City and Kevin Beck (Rosie) of Mary's Home; seven grandsons, Nathan Beck, Sam Beck (Emily), Kurtis Beck (Michelle), Andy Beck, Daniel Beck, Joe Beck, and Matthew Beck; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph Beck; and brother, Jerry Toebben.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund and Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. Entombment will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
