Barbara Brynn Bishop

Barbara Brynn Bishop, beloved mother and grandmother, of Arlington, TX, passed away on September 18, 2025.

She was born in Fort Worth on July 2, 1948, to Gabriel and Christine Budaus (Tawater). Barbara attended Northside High School before going on to Texas Wesleyan University and becoming a High School English teacher at Burleson High School. She had a passion for journalism and literature and will be remembered for how she entertained her students with her dramatic flair as she acted out the scenes she read to them.

Barbara was a devoted mother to Brandon and Ryan Bishop to whom she dedicated most of her life. She affectionately called her family the 'Three Musketeers' which eventually included their wives as the 4th and 5th Musketeers. Oftentimes, they could all be found making each other laugh during family get togethers. She demonstrated a sacrificial love for her family, then cherished spending as much time with her sons, their wives, and children as her family grew.

Within the last 10 years of her life, the Lord drew Barbara to Himself. She started attending Bible Study Fellowship and then The Fields Church in Arlington. Through exposure to God's Word and faithful preaching, Barbara became convinced of her need to be rescued from her sins. She turned to Jesus by faith, and He saved and changed her. She became a member of The Fields Church and enjoyed faithfully serving in the children's and various other ministries.

Barbara was preceded in death by her father and mother, Gabriel and Christene Budaus; brother, Gabriel Budaus, Jr., and granddaughter, Isabel Katie Bishop.

She is survived by her son, Brandon and daughter-in-law, Jill Bishop, and children, Joshua and Abygail; son, Ryan and daughter-in-law Kelli Bishop, and children Caleb, Evie, Silas, Lily, and Keira; sisters, Christy Begole and Becky Kopplin and their families.

Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2025, at Lamar Baptist Church's Layne Hall in Arlington. Flowers may be sent to Lamar Baptist Church.
