Barbara Capuano, beloved mother to Frank Galli, of Commerce City, Colorado and Daniel Galli of Stratford, CT, passed away peacefully at her residence in Shelton, CT in the early morning hours on 7/16/24.
Barbara was born in Bridgeport in 1942 to Leonard and Anna Capuano. She lived most of her life in CT, close to her many family members, whom she loved and adored. A professional cook in the culinary industry, she worked for many companies throughout her life and, for a time, was part owner of Cappy's on the Green luncheonette, located in Paradise Green in Stratford. She took great pride in her ability to entertain, decorate and bring joy to people through the many events she helped organize. Barbara took special joy in the many adventures she and her granddaughter Kiana Galli embarked upon and had fond memories of travelling around the country in the later years of her life. Her family was one of the biggest parts of her life, the bond she shared with them brought her a happiness beyond measure.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Anna, her brothers Richard Capuano, Anthony "Butchie" Capuano and sister Antoinette Piccirillo. She is survived by her many siblings Maryann Damato, Leonard Capuano, Michael Capuano, Anna Scala, Theresa Procyk, Lenore Esposito, Nicholas Capuano, Christina Williams, Deborah Capuano and Jeanette Flathers, as well as all of the extended family who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
Calling Hours for Barbara will occur from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 19th, at the Parente Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield Center. This will be followed by a prayer service from 5:30 to 6 p.m. For travel directions or to sign Barbara's online guest register, please visit www.ParenteFuneralHome.com.
