Barbara Ann Costner

Barbara Ann Costner, 79, longtime Guymon resident passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at the Cheyenne Manor in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado.
The daughter of Lily Leo (Forguson) and Joe Wheeler Bridgman, she was born November 9, 1943 in Powell, Oklahoma. As a youngster, Barbara moved to Guymon with family and attended the Guymon school system.
Barbara and Richard Lee Costner were united in marriage on April 8, 1961 in Clayton, New Mexico. She had worked as a CNA at the Memorial Hospital for many years and also for Guymon High School in the cafeteria and custodial departments. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her loving family, she especially loved baking goodies for the grandkids and sharing her love of reading with them.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Richard Costner on October 30, 2018. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Rickey Lee Costner; four sisters: Nona, Linda, Bonnie and an infant and two brothers, Larry and an infant.
Survivors include one son, James R. Costner and wife, Jeanine of Guymon; two daughters: Melinda Davila and husband, Gilbert of Turpin, Oklahoma and Brenda Costner of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado; nine grandchildren: Alex, Robert, Laura Jo, James, Justice, Travis, Morgan, Cody and Christine; along with numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, September 2nd at 1:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Chapel with Rev. Stacy Ross, pastor of the Northridge Free Will Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Elmhurst Cemetery.
