Cottrill, Barbara L. (Nelen), 57, Cresson, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at UPMC Altoona. Born November 14, 1967, Altoona, daughter of the late Carl B. and Beverly H. (Graham) Nelen. Survived by her daughter, Amanda (Ryan) Gorba; significant other of 30 years, Brian Boast; three grandchildren, Hannah, Madison, and Elliott; siblings, Rick Nelen, Ruth (Earl) Diehl, Ronald “Pete” Nelen, Audrey Wollett, Allen “Bo” Nelen, Arnold (Michelle) Nelen, Barry Nelen, and Bevin Nelen; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles; and many friends that she met throughout her life. Barbara had a passion for organizing community events. She was known to be a “yes person”, assisting whenever needed with several local organizations in her spare time. She also was passionate about the American Cancer Society. Barbara was also known as a dedicated employee at Degol’s (Scotch Valley Country Club) where she worked for 28 years. She enjoyed her job and was enthusiastic about what she did there. Most of all, Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Friends and family will be received Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 1-6 p.m., Anderson Family Funeral Home, Cresson. At the request of the family, a private service will be held Monday, December 23, 2024, Pastor Gary Shingler officiant.
