Barbara Jane Denner

Barbara J. Denner, 96 of Painesville, passed away peacefully April 28, 2025 at Grand River Health and Rehab in Painesville. She was born February 23, 1929 in Hudson, Ohio to the late Guy William Patterson and Gladys Lavina Osborn Patterson.
Barbara was a devoted member of St. James Episcopal Church in Painesville for over 55 years where she was a member of the Daughters of the King, the Stephens Ministry and the choir. She was also a member of Urania Chapter #284 Order of the Eastern Star where she held various local and state positions. She also devoted over 46 years volunteering at Lake East Hospital. She enjoyed showing and working with dogs as well as quilting. She made quilts for special occasions celebrating weddings and other family milestones. Her greatest joy came from her family, and she enjoyed attending her grandchildren's activities.
She is survived by her sons, David (Therese) Denner and Andy (Linda) Denner; grandchildren Katherine Kosik, Sarah (Johnathan) Riffey, Rebecca (Gregory) Egler, Matthew (Kelsie) Denner, Joshua (Amber) Denner, Kevin Denner, Ian Denner, Jacob Denner and Charles Denner and great grandchildren Samantha Kosik, Xavier, Mason and Elijah Egler, Ellis and Eliza Riffey and Willa Grey Denner. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Thomas Denner, her son Daniel Guy Denner, brother Robert Patterson and sister Joy Hendershot.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 16th at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 131 North State Street, Painesville, Ohio 44077.
In lieu of flowers Barbara asked for everyone to "smile at a stranger, laugh often, give your time and talents to others and remember you are loved."
