Barbara J. DePaolo, 88, of New Castle passed away the afternoon of June 19, 2025 at her residence.
Barbara was born on October 10, 1936 in New Castle to the late Andrew and Anne (Gudyk) Gentsy, Sr.
She married her beloved husband, Daniel A. DePaolo, Jr. on February 8, 1958. He preceded her in death on April 20, 1997.
Barbara worked for PennDot as a Permit Secretary and then as a Secretary at Crestview Gardens Apartments until her retirement. She had many hobbies such as shopping, traveling, and cooking, but her greatest joy was spending time with family and her grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by her children, David A. DePaolo (Carol), Daniel A. DePaolo III (Cathy), and Tamara Ann Russick (Ed); sister, Sandra Mraz; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Carla Pezzone, Linda Gentsy, and Andrea Bucci; and one brother, Andy Gentsy, Jr.
Visitation will be Monday, June 23 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home, Inc. 941 S. Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home on Tuesday at 10 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit Parish – St. Vitus Church at 10:30 a.m. officiated by Fr. Aaron Kriss. Burial will be at Parkside Cemetery.
