Barbara (Fitzpatrick) Erla, 79, was a lifelong resident of Jersey City and a graduate of St. Dominic Academy, Jersey City. She was predeceased by her parents Julie and Edward Fitzpatrick and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Peter, sons David (Jeanette), Peter Jeffrey (Kathleen) and Sean (Susan) Erla, her granddaughters Kayley, Rachel, and Ashley Erla, her sister Carolyn (Richard) Dessimoz and her brother Edward (Linda) Fitzpatrick, brother-in- law John Erla and sisters-in-law Chris Matrogiovanni and Agnes Erla, her niece Megan (Patrick) De Pasquale and their children, along with many loving cousins.
Barbara's home was a central meeting place for family and friends. On any given day you could stop by and be treated to love, laughter and an impromptu family dinner. She loved to spend hours on the phone giving support and advice to her sons, granddaughters and anyone else who needed a mother's point of view. Barabara and Peter, who were married for almost 60 years, loved attending their sons' sporting events and activities. She was the biggest fan of her granddaughters, happily traveling across New Jersey and Pennsylvania to any type of event they participated in. Her loving presence will be missed in all the lives
she's touched.
