Barbara Ellen (Brown) Euler left this Earth on Dec. 6, 2023, to join her Lord Jesus and her loving husband for eternity.
Barbara was born on Dec. 15, 1933, to Lloyd and Mildred Brown in Michigan City, Indiana. She was a special present brought home from the hospital on Christmas Day of that year.
On June 30, 1954, she met Richard W. Euler and knew he was "the one" the moment he asked her to dance. They were married on Dec. 26, 1954, and continued that dance and created a home filled with love for nearly 60 years.
Barbara built a 35-year career with Mary Kay Cosmetics and was proud to pay for her own braces out of her earnings at the age of 50. She was a long-time member of the Beechwood Ladies Golf Club, the Phi Delta Kappa "Phi Wives" Club, the First United Methodist Church and a 30-year breast cancer survivor.
Barbara is survived by her loving children, Bill Euler (Mary Essling) of Michigan City, and Julie Euler of La Porte. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Rachel and Weston Euler of Temple, Texas; and sisters, Gertrude Orginski Sprencel of La Porte, and Eilene Franson of Elkhart, Indiana; as well as several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is Melody Euler of Austin, Texas, the mother of her grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her granddaughter, Katherine Euler; her sisters, Phyllis Darlene Phillips, Janet Phegley and Mildred Burgess; best friend of 60 years, Millie Garwood; and her beloved dogs, Annie and Beau.
Per Barbara's wishes to help further research for dementia and Alzheimer's disease, she wished her remains be donated for medical research to Science Care, with cremation to follow. A private service and burial will be held at a future date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Beechwood Golf Course Endowment Fund at Unity Foundation of La Porte County, online at www.uflc.net. If donation by check is preferred, the mailing address is 422 Franklin St., Suite C, Michigan City, IN, 46360. Please include Beechwood Golf Course Endowment Fund in the memo line.
