Barbara Lou Hansen Felt, age 70, passed away early in the morning Friday, June 16, 2023 at Davis Hospital in Layton, UT.
Barbara was born October 27, 1952 in Ogden, UT to Harold and Donna Faye (Manley) Hansen.
Barbara graduated from Ogden High School in 1969 and then went on to Weber State College where she met her sweetheart William Henry Felt. Barbara and William were married in the Salt Lake Temple September 2, 1971. They went on to have ten children in total, Victoria, Kersten, William, Jonathan, Peter, Misty, Harold, Kristi, Thomas, and Kevin.
They moved to Sacramento, CA in 1974 with the hope of one day returning to Utah. In the summer of 2000 they finally returned, settling in Clearfield, UT where both William and Barbara lived out the remainder of their days.
Barbara was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and used much of her time and many talents in serving others. Barbara enjoyed every calling she was given including scouting with the BSA, primary worker, and ward librarian but her favorite and last calling was to be in the nursery. Barbara spent most of her life caring for children, her own and any others who needed her love and attention. She opened her heart and her home to many children over the years and loved them all as if they were her own.
From the time her children were little she devoted many hours in support of their hobbies, talents, and dreams. She encouraged her children to keep practicing their music, to work hard in everything they do, and most of all to have faith in God. Family was important to her, and she was the glue that kept us all together.
Barbara loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was often found reading or listening to books, weeding in her flower garden, playing card games, working on puzzles, crocheting blankets, buying toys and other trinkets to give away, or listening to her music. She was always helping others and her kindness will forever be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Barbara is survived by her sisters, Susan Coleman, and Penny DeWitt; brothers, Lowell Hansen, Russell Hansen, Paul Hansen, Jeff Hansen, and Allen Hansen; 9 children, 27 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William; son, Harold; granddaughter, Stephanie; parents, Harold and Donna Hansen; sisters, Linda Bell, Jean Porter, and Carolyn Simpson; and brothers, Douglas and Wayne Hansen;
