Barbara Carol Ferril, age 89, resident of
Coweta, OK, passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, December 22, 2025, at Porta Caeli House in
Tulsa, OK. She was born on April 6, 1936, in Bethel, TX to Lee Alexander and Jessie Lee (Shipman) Gipson. Barbara's life was a testament to her strength, kindness, and unwavering faith.
Barbara's early years were spent in the close-knit community of
Shamrock, TX, where she attended school and laid the foundations for a life full of love and service. Her entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as she ran Daylight Donut and Spinning Wheel Skating Rink in Shamrock. Her commitment to her community extended to a 20-year tenure at Adams Hardware Store, where she was a beloved figure until her retirement.
Family was the cornerstone of Barbara's life. She is survived by her loving daughters, Cathy Hawley and husband Robert of
Coweta, OK, and Karen Reyna and husband Candy of Katy, TX; her son, Barry Clancy and wife Misty of Memphis, TX; her brother, Don Gipson of Amarillo, TX; her adoring 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 33 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous cherished nieces and nephews.
Barbara's life was marked by love and partnership. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Willie Roy Clancy, Jr., whom she married on April 17, 1959, and who passed away in 2004, and Marvin Lee Ferril, whom she married on January 8, 2005, and who passed away in 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Lee Alexander and Jessie Lee Gipson; her son, Randy Wayne; her brother, Duanne Gipson; and her sisters, Betty Butler, Wanda Locke, Neta Ault, and Dorothy Gipson.
A devout member of Shahan Free Will Baptist Church in
Coweta, OK, Barbara's faith was a source of strength and joy. She delighted in going to church, singing gospel, and sharing her love for the Lord with those around her.
Barbara's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, hard work, and faith. Her grace, spirit, and the lessons she imparted will continue to resonate within the hearts of those who knew her, ensuring that her legacy endures for generations to come.
Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 AM on Monday, January 5, 2026, with the service at 11:00 AM at the First Assembly of God in
Shamrock, TX. She will be laid to rest at Shamrock Cemetery in
Shamrock, TX.
