Barbara A. Genis

WARREN – Barbara Ann Genis, age 76, went to join the other Angels Sunday, April 14, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Robert and Lorna (Van Ness) Genis August 17, 1947 in Meadville, PA.
Barbara graduated from Randolph-East Mead High School in Guys Mills, PA., where she was Head Majorette. She enjoyed spending time with her Brothers and Family, who liked to have parties and entertain. They owned the Genis Dairy Bar on route 77. An energetic woman with great determination, she worked as a Bartender, Tool and Die Maker, Box Truck Driver, Medical Sales, CNA, with her most recent employment as a Driver for the Amish. Inspired by her love of horses, she worked as an Outrider at a racetrack and helped train horses. Then she moved on and joined the Geauga County Sheriff's Mounted Unit. Her and our StepFather Robert Mckenney booked the entertainment for The Great Geauga County Fair. She was always busy, but would help anyone at any time without a thought, and enjoyed bargain/ treasure hunting, along with cooking, gardening, and rescuing all animals that needed her. She especially loved her grandchildren, and their friends too.
Precious moments with Barbara live on with her three daughters: Michelle Zackery (Lawrence) of Warren, Lorna Parsons-Ridgway (Kirby) of Portsmouth, Va., and Cheryl Parsons (John Anderson) of Edinboro, Pa.; and three grandsons: Matthew Gable, Kyle and Cole Gibbs.
Preceding her in death are her Parents, her Brothers Butch and Slip, and her recently passed uncle, David Genis.
