Jean graduated from Elkhart High School, Class of 1953. She retired from William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Fort Bliss, El Paso, TX. Jean was a member of the Red Hat Society, Elks Lodge, Ladies of the Moose Lodge, and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She was a loyal fan of NASCAR with the Earnhardts as her favorite drivers.
Survivors include four children, Deborah Rosas, Jeff (Christina) Lantis, Bret Lantis and Susan (Scott) Ford; grandchildren, Ryan Rosas, Carter, Blake and Abby Ford, and Jeremy Lantis; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father; mother; stepmother, Kathryn Gilbert; sister, Shirley Gilbert; and brother, Charles AC Gilbert.
A graveside service for Barbara Jean Lantis will be held Monday, July 28, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Sugar Grove Cemetery in Goshen, Indiana with Rev. Ryan Rosas officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Litchfield.
