BARBARA JEAN GRAY, age 85 of Kodak, TN passed away Saturday morning, January 4, 2025, Ridgeview Terrace of Life Care, Rutledge, TN following an extended illness. Barbara was born on December 17th, 1939 to Hazel and Frank Gann in Sevierville, TN. Barbara graduated from Sevierville High School in 1957. Barbara was married to Marshall Gray for over 40 years and had two children, Karen and Glenda Gray. Barbara and Marshall owned and operated Gray’s Market, Valley Home Rd., Dandridge, TN and after the business closed Barbara worked at the Lenox Outlet Store in Pigeon Forge for many years and she also operated Gray’s Properties in Kodak, TN for over 30 years. Barbara dedicated her life to helping others, from helping people with groceries when she owned the market to caring for families in need. She was always taking someone to the doctor or sitting with the sick. She was a lifetime member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses. Barbara was kind and generous and is leaving behind many broken hearts. She was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Justus; father, Frank “Rabbit” Gann; husband, Marshall Gray and daughter, Karen Gray and is survived by her daughter, Glenda Gray of Canton, GA; grandchildren, Savannah Mabe, Sharra Lovin Garrett, Landon Gary and Kira Gray Stringer and several great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2025, 7:00pm at Farrar Dandridge Chapel with Elder Tim Stallard officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00pm prior to the service and the entombment committal service will be Wednesday, 11:00am at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
