Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cargain Funeral Homes Inc. - Carmel on Oct. 1, 2025.
Barbara Guarracino, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on January 2, 1935, Barbara's life was a tapestry woven with the joys of family, friendship, and the simple pleasures that make a life well-lived.
Barbara was the loving matriarch of a family that adored her. She is survived by her devoted children, Judy and her husband Gaetano, and Perry and his wife Barbara. Barbara's legacy extends through her cherished grandchildren, Christopher and his wife Erin, Nicholas, Matthew and his wife Caiti and Michael and his finance Alyssa. Her joy was multiplied with the birth of her great-grandchildren, Kayla, Blake, and Hazel, who will grow up hearing stories of their great-grandmother's warmth and spirit.
She was predeceased by her beloved first husband, Victor, in 1966 who she was blessed with her 2 children. Barbara found love again and married Joseph Guarracino in 1972. Her brother Gerald also preceded her in death. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she carried their memories with her every day.
Barbara's life was characterized by her enduring sense of duty to her family. As a homemaker, she created a home filled with love, laughter, and the mouthwatering aroma of Sunday gravy and meatballs-a tradition that will be passed down through generations. Her hands were rarely still, and her door was always open, welcoming friends and family with open arms and a ready smile.
Her interests reflected her love for the vibrant pulse of life. Barbara had a rich circle of friends with whom she shared countless games of bingo and cards. Her adventurous spirit found joy in going on trips, discovering new places, and experiencing the world with the ones she loved. Barbara's penchant for shopping from QVC was more than a pastime; it was a way she expressed her love, finding just the right gifts to brighten the days of those she held dear.
Barbara was spirited, a woman whose energy and vivacity drew others to her. Her selflessness was evident in every aspect of her life, always placing the needs of others before her own. She was the embodiment of love, not just in words, but in her daily actions and the tender care she provided to her family.
It is with profound sadness that we bid farewell to Barbara Guarracino, yet we do so with grateful hearts, knowing that her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. Her memory will be cherished, her stories retold, and her love felt forevermore. Barbara's life was a testament to the beauty of a life centered around love and kindness, a lesson that will resonate for generations to come.
The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time.
