Barbara Helen Hahn

Barbara Helen Hahn, 90, of Belleville, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026. Born in Newark, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Josephine (Gerard) Gaudioso. Barbara lived most of her life in Belleville. She worked for the Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company in Newark for many years, and later worked as a medical records clerk at Clara Maass Medical Center before retiring. Barbara was a longtime and devout parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Barbara was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles "Bill" Hahn, and her son William "Billy" Hahn. She is survived by her daughters, Dana Gellis and husband Dave, and Cindy Coviello and husband Mark; her grandchildren, Kyra Whelan, Jamie Labisi Figaro, Jesse Coviello, Justin Coviello, Morgan Hahn, and Matthew Hahn; and her great grandchildren, Brielle and Patrick Whelan. Barbara was also the dear sister of the late Elaine Angelo and Jean Gerard.
Barbara loved music, baking, dancing, and doing word search puzzles. She was a people person whose biggest talent was bringing others together. She hosted family gatherings in her home for all of the holidays. After an outing, she never missed an opportunity to ask, "Are you stopping by the house later?" She leaves behind fond memories of playing board games with her family. She is also remembered for her amazing stuffing, baked beans, stuffed artichokes, potato salad, and brownies with extra chocolate chips.
Friends and family may offer their condolences at a viewing on Thursday, January 8, 2026 between 4:00 and 7:00 PM at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley.
Funeral will be held at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 9:00 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on Prospect Street in Nutley at 10:00 AM followed by entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. Repast to follow.
