Barbara H. Hamilton passed away on August 29, 2025 surrounded by her family.
Known to her friends as Bobbie, Barbara was born in Bloomfield, NJ on June 15, 1933 to Guido (Jack) and Helen Caruso. Barbara married her high school sweetheart, Frank, who she followed throughout the world during his military career, from Japan to Germany to Bangkok, Thailand.
While overseas, she loved to travel with her growing family on vacations - by way of military standby - to Japan, Hawaii, New Delhi, the South Thailand beaches, and Pattaya.
After relocating to Newark, DE to raise their family, Barbara and Frank retired to the Poconos at The Hideout in Hamlin, PA, building many fond family bonds and memories. After Frank's passing in 2013 Barbara moved to Middletown, DE. She loved line dancing with her new friends at Spring Arbor.
Barbara loved spending time with her sisters, dancing, shopping, and meeting up at the Caldwell Diner in NJ.
Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Frank, and her daughter-in-law Susan-Joy. She is survived by her five sons Bob (Theresa), Bill (Karen), Frank (Kathie) Jack (Patti), Jim (Lynn); 13 grandchildren, Stefanie, Kari, Lisa, Erin, Kristin, Brian, Michael, Daniel, Erica, Matthew, Thomas, Lauren, and Megan; and 16 great-grandchildren, Liam, Maia, Ellie, Brody, Cassie, Billy, Trey, Nico, Isabelle, Chase, Logan, Rhys, Thea, Leo, Marleigh, and Emmie.
She is also survived by her two loving sisters, Nancy and Bevy, and their families.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 82 Possum Park Road, Newark, DE 19711 where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
