Barbara A. Hastings

Barbara A. Hastings, 86, formerly of Quarryville, entered into rest on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Legends of Lancaster. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Don and Anne Lefever. She was the loving wife of the late Jay N. Hastings for 41 years at the time of his passing in 2020.
Barb was employed at Hamilton Watch early in life, but then spent many years as a real estate agent, retiring from Berkshire-Hathaway in Quarryville. Barb was a member of Union Church in Kirkwood and was active in the Quarryville Community, serving on the board of SECA and helping with various Solanco sports boosters. She also volunteered at Lancaster General Hospital and was on the board of the Wheatland Federal Credit Union.
Barb is survived by her children: Linda (Mike) Shoemaker, Donna (Larry) Kreider, and Steve (Jan) Hastings. Also surviving are step-children, Jay Andrew (Andrea) Hastings, and Sarah (Rich) Norris; 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, a great-great grandchild, and also 4 step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Hastings and 3 siblings.
The family will have a private celebration of Barb's life at Union Church with Pastor Blake Deibler officiating. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery, Kirkwood. Memorial contributions may be made to Caring Hospice, 101 Good Dr., Unit 1, Lancaster, PA 17603.
